I have the honor to acknoweldge (after some delay occasioned by my temporary absence in Abingdon) of "Special orders no. 59" from the Head Qrs. of the Army, requiring me to relive Bvt. 2nd Lieut. John Hillhouse [(1817-1882), USMA Class of 1842] of Capt. Washington's Company on 30th Inst; which will accordingly be complied with.
