[Harvey Mitchell (1799-1866)


Wig Store = French-born Robert Duquesne (born circa 1818); his wife Onezime (circa 1821-February 12, 1859) is buried in Shockoe Hill Cemetery, Richmond. They had at least two children: Gustavus (born 1844) and Leonen. Robert was a member of the Masonic Lodge Francaise in Richmond. Location of his Wig Store in 1844 was probably at or near Market Place.

This advertisement establishes Harvey Mitchell's continued work as a traveling portrait painter in 1844.]
